Mrityunjaya Rasa is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form. It is used in the treatment of all types of fever. This medicine contains heavy metal ingredients, hence should only be taken under strict medical supervision

Ingredients of Mrityunjay Ras

Vatsanabh –  With the help of sulfur, soya, cinnamon and other spicy aromatic things to repair the coming fever, the fever is correct by giving the amount of equal amount of half the rice.  Any person who does not stop urine, or if he is suffering from it, should take half of the same amount of rice.In cold fever, the discomfort is given in small amounts in the coming fever. All kinds of pain can be eliminated by the oil of Vatsnab . Apart from this, applying arthritis and inflammation of small joints benefits. Sithika, arthritis (knee pain), tetanus (getting scratched in the body), it is beneficial to give it in very small quantities.

Gandhak –  Purified and processed Sulphur –  It is prepared by processing purified Sulphur in herbal ingredients. Sulphur/Sulfur is known as ‘Gandhak’ in Sanskrit and Hindi due to its strong peculiar rotten-egg like smell. It is a non-metallic element found in nature. There are four varieties of Sulphur viz. red, yellow, white and black. Of these the red and black are not available now. Yellow variety is used for internal use and white is used for topical application.

Parad –  Purified and processed Mercury –    used to boost immune system, to improve strength, in cardiac diseases, colicky abdominal pain, urinary tract related diseases, fistula in ano, inflammatory conditions, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory conditions, asthma, anemia, obesity, non healing wounds, and digestive problems.

Tankan –  It is useful in gastric complaints, skin diseases, eye disorders, bloating, splenomegaly, helminthiasis, obesity, diabetes, vomiting, asthma, bronchitis, herpes, abdominal colic, chronic respiratory disorders, liver disorders, piles, fistula, chronic diseases, emaciation, muscle wasting, dizziness, delusion.

Hingool –  It is an excellent rejuvenative, anti-aging medicine. It relieves burning sensation, used in treating memory loss, dizziness, excessive thirst, diabetes, Cachexia, Tissue wasting, Urinary disorders, Alcoholism, Poisoning, Fever, Uterine disorder, Epilepsy

Marich –  Marich removes toxic conditions, stimulates the organs and heals many health impairments. It is also used as an antidote for insect bites. Marich is Pungent, light to digest, very strong which is known to enter deep and minutes body channels and is known for its hot potency. It is used to balance vata and kapha doshas in body. The fruit, dried unripe fruits o are used as spices or in medicines.

Pepali – Pippali has a pungent rasa and sweet vipak. Its virya is anushnashita–neither hot nor cold, a fact that renders it invaluable for pitta. It contains volatile oil, alkaloids piperin and piperlonguminine, terpenoids and N-isobutyl deca-trans-2-trans-4-dienamide, a waxy alkaloid. Pippali regulates sroto-agni of pranavahasrotas, the respiratory tract. It acts as a bronchodilator, decongestant, expectorant, and lung rejuvenative. In annavahasrotas, the digestive tract, it also has powerful actions as carminative and deepan (agni kindler). Pippali kindles bhutagni in the liver, improving liver function, and is a metabolic stimulant, aiding the thermogenic response by increasing the level of thyroid hormone.

Jambiri Nimbu Swaras –  Lemon is used to treat scurvy, a condition caused by not having enough vitamin C. Lemon is also used for the common cold and flu, H1N1 (swine) flu, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), Meniere’s disease, and kidney stones. It is also used to aid digestion, reduce pain and swelling (inflammation), improve the function of blood vessels, and increase urination to reduce fluid retention.

Pharmacological Action Of Mrityunjay Ras On Fever

• It is used in the treatment of fevers.
• In all types of Fevers, it is given along with honey.
• In Vata type of fever, predominated by bodyache, it is given along with watery portion of curds.
• In Chronic fever, affected by Tridosha, it is administered along with Ginger juice extract.
• In fever associated with indigestion, it is given along with lemon juice.
• In Intermittent fever (Vishamajwara), it is given along with Cumin seeds and jaggery.
• In case of fever of recent origin, and in fever with predominance of Vata and Pitta, associated with severe burning sensation all over the body, it is administered along with sugar candy,and  tender coconut water.

Dosage of Mrityunjay Ras

One to two tablets, once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
